* Day of Deeper Understanding
Our E171 DDU will be held at 8:30AM, Saturday, November 22, at First United Presbyterian Church in Dale City. This will be a wonderful reunion, and a chance to learn a bit more about this amazing organization. Come hear about the history of the Emmaus NCA, how the weekends are pd, and how you can help with this blessed ministry opportunity.
A Message from the "R"
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans: 15:13
What a blessing and an awesome responsibility to lead such a godly group of men to the mountain. My weekend (E-127) was one filled with the LOVE & JOY of Jesus Christ – and for some reason I just want to keep “passing it on”. Sound familiar?
My weekend reminded me of the ultimate price that God paid for me (and you); His unconditional LOVE that came down – “Living he loved me; dying He saved me; Buried he carried my sins far way; Rising, He justified freely forever; One day He’s coming – oh Glorious day!” God no longer wanted me to feel the burdens and heavy baggage that weighed me down. He provided everything I needed – the cross – the strongest sign of LOVE and HOPE. It was at the foot of the cross that I found PEACE and a new JOY to better serve HIM. And I don’t have to do that alone! He has given me His Holy Spirit and a community of FAITH – the Body of Christ. There is HOPE – because God’s LOVE has been poured out into our hearts. And there is HOPE in a future that is more GLORIOUS than we could imagine; a day when all will be set “right” – no more pain – no more suffering. And we have the blessing to be a part of HIS Glorious plan.
God has brought this team of E171 to serve as His hands and feet. The theme for our weekend is “Glorious Day” and our theme song is: Glorious Day (Casting Crowns) that comes from a hymn written in 1909 by Presbyterian evangelist Rev. John Wilbur Chapman.
I have been blessed to be a part of this Emmaus, KAIROS and Chrysalis community for almost 10 years. My eyes have been opened in new and wonderful ways to serve our amazing God. My brothers and sisters have been with me side by side through the Joys and Trials over this past decade – we don’t have to do this alone. I am thankful for the support from so many people from this community that have encouraged me, supported me and made me a better person to serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
My prayer for this entire community, the team of E171 and the Pilgrims that meet us on the mountain is my scripture for this weekend: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans: 15:13
