E-204 Rector Message

When I was called over a year ago to be the R of E-204 I was so shocked I stammered on the phone, not believing this was happening before I said, “Yes.” Then when the reality set in I started wondering if I could fulfill the expectations that so many had of me and what all there was to do in preparation for this weekend that God and others had selected me to lead.

Then the praying started! I thought and prayed who I would like for the cadre that would help prepare and guide me through this journey. But, here again, I was looking at this in the wrong way. It wasn’t about who I wanted, but who God needed for these positions. The same happened for the team. As the team started to form, all of a sudden I hit a brick wall. I was getting answers I didn’t understand as to why the people I was asking couldn’t serve. I did realize they had very good reasons.

.At the August Ultreya I was asked to share some comments about the team. I was still looking for the last three team members and I blurted out that if anyone was interested in teaming, we still had room. After communion, God had placed the last three team where they needed to be, on His team!! It was definitely not a Bob thing, but a God thing and He moved in their hearts to be part of E-204.

Since my first teaming experience, when I was a table leader, my table name was Grace and Blessings. The song selection for the weekend was easy as I’ve liked Rend Collective since I teamed on E-189. The song is Counting Every Blessing. As the song says, I am counting every blessing, I am counting every blessing, I am counting every blessing, letting go and trusting when I cannot see, I am counting every blessing, surely every season you are good to me. Our theme for the weekend is Counting EVERY Blessing!

Our verse is a popular one, Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I believe God has a plan for each of us and we need to stop and be thankful for ALL of our blessings.

We appreciate all the community’s prayers and support as we move on this E-204 journey. We will be ready to love on each and every pilgrim that will be on the mountain.
