E-23 Rectora Message

Being asked to represent the NCA Emmaus Community as the Rectora for Women’s Walk E-205 is truly a humbling and grace-filled honor.

I vividly remember George Gero walking up to me, giving me a hug, and asking if I would be willing to serve as an “R” for 2026. It was the team party for E-201, where I was serving as Head Cha, and I was busy preparing for the arrival of families and team members. I paused for a moment, stepped into the hallway, and prayed—quietly asking God if I was worthy of such an honor.

In that stillness, my answer came through my favorite Bible verse, Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” As I stood in the silence, I knew that God was offering one of His most precious gifts—the opportunity to serve alongside His sons and daughters, growing His Kingdom through love, fellowship, and faith.

Our theme for E-205 is The Power of Prayer, and I have chosen Anne Wilson’s song “Praying Women.” One morning her song woke me up as my alarm, and it spoke directly to my heart. I had been struggling with several things, and as the song began—describing a woman praying, holding her Bible, and counting her blessings at the end of the day—I knew without hesitation that this was the message God wanted me to carry into the weekend.

We all begin our days praying for our families and friends, thanking God for His many blessings, and we are called to end our days the same way—grounded in prayer, gratitude, and trust in Him.

As we move into the fourth week of teaming, we are prayerfully looking forward to serving together as God’s hands and feet. We am looking forward to inviting the pilgrims to the weekend to be loved by the team of E-205 and by the wider Emmaus community whose prayers and support surround them.

Every Emmaus weekend holds a special place in the hearts of those who experience it. The beautiful setting in Front Royal, combined with the overwhelming love that surrounds each participant, is truly a gift from God. I am deeply grateful and prayerfully excited for what God has planned during the E-205 April 9-12, 2026.

DeColores,
